Great Campaigns Don't Have to Take Forever

April 2025 | Campaigns

Sometimes politics is personal.

Getting one of your best friends elected to Parliament is a rare treat. Getting him elected as a Liberal in Calgary Confederation, a riding that had never elected a Liberal since its creation, made the challenge even more interesting.

On April Fools' Day 2025, Decide Campaigns launched Corey Hogan's campaign for Parliament. Twenty-eight days later, he was elected.

Corey brought significant name recognition, deep community connections and a reputation built over years in public life. Volunteers came out in force. And an exceptional campaign leadership team turned a carefully designed strategy into a flawlessly executed campaign.

The result was 48.1% of the vote and a Liberal victory in a riding that had previously elected only Conservatives.

The lesson? Great campaigns don't necessarily need months of preparation.

They need a clear strategy, a candidate who connects with voters, an organization that understands its responsibilities and a team capable of executing under pressure.

We designed the campaign. An amazing team brought it to life.

And because Corey was also one of our co-hosts on The Strategists, we did what any self-respecting political podcasters would do.

We recorded a podcast about it.

Twenty-eight days. One remarkable team. One newly elected Member of Parliament.

Not bad for a campaign launched on April Fools' Day.
